Alby Stained Glass, based in Bawdeswell Garden Centre, is a well established business offering unique and bespoke glass work in lead, copper foil and fused glass.

Inside the centre there is the shop where customers can purchase hand made pieces or order something to their specification.

Out in the studio we run tuition courses and workshops and make the larger orders, such as windows and bigger panels. The studio also houses our stocks of glass and tools and the kiln for fused work.

We have recently created an area outside the studio to display our glass garden items.

We are often invited to run off-site workshops with W.I groups. These very popular days enable participants to have a go at copper-foiling and soldering pre-cut and ground kits so they can take away a number of items at the end of the day. We have wonderful feed-back from these groups who are often booking their next day with us by the end of the session!

Over the past year, Julie and two of our long-term students, Mick Franks and Sandra Stevens, have been creating a 3D fairground scene. We are delighted to have been invited to exhibit this at the Makers Festival next February in the Forum where we will also be running workshops in the evenings.
